Kangaroo Island Plantation Timbers prepares for port construction

Australian Kangaroo Island Plantation Timbers has signed a contract for the construction of the Kangaroo Island Seaport at Smith Bay. The contract partners in the Early Contractor Involvement Agreement (ECI), led by Maritime Constructions (MC) from Port Adelaide, include KBR and WGA, two global leaders in the field of civil and marine construction. The ECI Agreement establishes an innovative Alliance Agreement model, under which the Contractor will build a deep-water wharf at Smith Bay, Kangaroo Island.  The Alliance Agreement itself will now be prepared under the ECI Agreement terms and conditions. Viking says it will start Mississippi River cruises in 2022

River cruise behemoth Viking Cruises will start cruising the Mississippi River in August 2022 with a 450’x75’ vessel being built at a shipyard owned by Edison Chouest Offshore, Galliano, La. The 386-passenger, five-deck Viking Mississippi will sail between New Orleans and St. Paul, the company, which has 79 vessels operating worldwide, said this week. Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas has introduced two new wheel loader models, the HL930A (among the first Hyundai A Series models that feature Cummins Performance Series engines) and the HL975CVT, equipped with a continuously variable transmission. The new Hyundai HL930A is sized to meet the needs of utility and general construction contractors, says the company, with an operating weight of 25,135 pounds and a standard bucket capacity of 2.5 cubic yards. BOMAG BM 2500/75 cold planer is the company’s largest. The 771-horsepower BM 2500/75 is a four-track unit that incorporates a mechanical drum drive for the 98.4-inch-wide (half-lane) cutter. Tracks are 76.8 inches long tracks and all steer, including crab steering. The new machine is capable of cutting depths reaching 13.8 inches and has three milling speeds: ECO (100 rpm); Universal (112 rpm); and Speed (131 rpm).
